Garden of the Gods - a celebration

Jim DiNapoli loved climbing in the Garden, loved showing it off to other climbers who had never climbed there, loved helping and teaching new climbers in this spectacular place. So in his honor, let’s get together and do some climbing on the soft sandstone walls of the Garden of the Gods. There are routes to be had at all levels, mostly with fixed protection, but also some opportunities to place gear. I’m not going to specify a location, other than to say we’ll be in the central part of the park. Let’s just get together and climb. We can split up for different routes but still be within easy walking distance of each other. All are encouraged to join us for climbing, whether they knew Jim or not.

On this day, we remember Jim, by sharing a little friendship and climbing in the Garden he so loved. We’ll meet in the north parking lot at 10:00 am. Please feel free to join us after climbing, in the round - that area just south of the north parking lot - at 3:00 pm, for a public memorial service. There will also be a get together later in the evening, to celebrate Jim’s life. Please rsvp for that no later than Friday, April 25.
