  • Hi all - I'm on WQED's Final Friday 4802 debate panel tomorrow (7:30PM), and would love any input you might have on some proposed current topics (these might not be the final topics though) - if you can, please forward any thoughts/debate points to the me @ [address removed] - thanks!

  • The proposed Arizona law SB 1062: is this oppression or protection of religious freedom? What exactly is / should be the balance between state-protected religious expression and state-protected civil rights to equality?
  • The latest with the FCC proposal (now halted) to have a "monitoring" presence in the newsrooms of America (first proposed for Columbia, South Carolina) - why now? PA's Pat Toomey is one of several senators leading the charge on this pushback from the US Senate. Is this going over the line? with the issues with the IRS, NSA, and FCC - should Americans be concerned about the relationship of government, communications, and information?
  • The Obama Administration is moving to ban junk food ads from scoreboards and other ad spaces on school grounds: is this going too far? Is the administration going down the "Big Gulp" path of Bloomberg and New York City from a few years ago? Is this proposed policy a good thing for kids, the role of government, the intended goal?
  • The Pennsylvania cases of Jordan Miles and Darrin Manning coming up in March - what is your take on these cases? Are we moving the focus from "Stand Your Ground" to standing up for Black youth? Is this another moment to take notice and take action?
