RaspberryPI show and tell.

Voting has closed and it looks like RaspberryPI show and tell has been voted in for our April meetup. I would like as many presenters as possible for this meetup so if you have a project large or small with any type of microcontroller please let me know.

If you have something to present please send me a note with the following.

1. Topic name for agenda

2. Time slot requested (5, 10, 30 minutes)

3. Any equipment you will need (power, vga, hdmi)

If you're not sure what to talk about here are some ideas.

1. What does your project do?

2. Why did you feel in need to invest time in doing the project?

3. Things you assumed at the start but found out were wrong during the project?

4. What you plan on working on next?

Thanks for your support and I look forward to hearing about some cool projects.

No sponsor yet for April. Please let me know if you know of any possible sponsors.

Wanted to pass along the script that I have for my strawberrypi project. It's a simple cron job that uses a json file to determine when to execute. The next update will utilize google calendars for the jobs engine.

    Append to /etc/crontab
    */5 * * * * root /home/pi/ > /tmp/sprinkler.log 2>&1

Cron job script (execute ever 5 minutes)

    JSON file:

To all the folks who participated in this meetup thanks so much for your presentations and support.
Since hearing the responses to my question on float valves I think I have a solid plan moving forward. I was just thinking too hard about a very simple problem. Next meetup I'll give an update. I'm excited to see this work and if not looking forward to more recommendations.
    Thanks Geeks!

The meeting was excellent. I learn a lot every time we meet. Just one of the many reasons I like being part of this group. And Rob is a class act. Other members of the meetup showed their awesome character by helping out poor Harry. I look forward to seeing Harry's and others' progress on their PI projects.

I am going to use the Raspberry Pi for one of my projects. Nothing to show yet. But I would like to hear what other people did and what problems they saw.

Bringing a friend with me that saw a TED talk on Raspberry Pi. He says it's cool. I agree.

Please let me know if you have a project you would like to show off. We currently only have 3 projects for show and tell. I would like to get another 2 projects on the agenda if at all possible. Thanks,
