Define how US and Russia govt bodies will help accelerate tech businesses!
Details
Hello all!
Breaking news:
The U.S.-Russia Innovation Council on High Technologies (ICHT) has just resumed its activities. ICHT members are willing to discuss how they could help foster tech entrepreneurship and research in Russia.
They might be able to launch educational projects, competitions, travel, etc. (think of just about anything that can foster entrepreneurship!) and they may even help with fundraising…
At this moment they are open to hear suggestions from Russian tech entrepreneurs more than ever.
You can influence ICHT agenda and projects. Yes, you can, and I mean it. :)
This is not about talking, this is about discussing and launching specific projects. Btw, check out the Linkedin profile of newly appointed head of ICHT Lorraine Hariton - I think she is amazing! :)
Just RSVP for the meetup on March 2 (note that it's just 2 days from now!) and come to Digital October to discuss.
We will have a 30-50-minute Q&A where the delegation will ask you, and you will ask them. We'll proceed with mingling. Food and drinks will be served.
We will have a chance to stay there until late - so you can make the most of this meeting!
Important:
RSVP is mandatory. There are only 49 seats left – so act fast!
Note that we will give preference to repeat entrepreneurs and executives (not first-timers) and those who were recommended by other group members in the past.
Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday at 7 pm with your questions and suggestions ready!
Anastasia
Some background on ICHT:
The U.S.-Russia Innovation Council on High Technologies was created in 2003 to act as an advisory body and implement programs to stimulate innovative, entrepreneurial science and technology based business, institutional and academic partnerships.
The U.S. Co-Chair is Lorraine Hariton, Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs with the Department of State. The Russian Co-Chair is Dr. Sergey Mazurenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science.
The ICHT has met four times since its inception, but has not convened since 2008. During that period, the ICHT achieved some success - including adoption by Russia of new regulation on commercialization of university high technology research as a result of ICHT policy recommendations.
Here is the ICHT delegation:
Lorraine Hariton, Special Representative for Business and Commercial Affairs, U.S. Department of State
Beth Daugharty, Office of Science and Technology Cooperation, U.S. Department of State
Kate Szpila, Office of Russian Affairs, U.S. Department of State
Ellen House, U.S. Department of Commerce
Vladimir Kurakin, CRDF Global
Kendrick White, General Director, Marchmont Capital Partners
Trevor Gunn, Director International Relations, Medtronic
Alexandra Johnson, Managing Director of DFJ VTB Aurora
