Hello Rustangles!
I'm pleased to announce a double feature gaming themed meetup on Thursday, June 26th, and Spinning Trianglthon (https://www.meetup.com/Rust-Bay-Area/events/183377112/) hackathon on Saturday, June 28th. Both in San Francisco. We will be going through all the Gaming tech and prototypes that the community has been developing.
Here's our lineup:
• Brendan Zabarauskas: The Library Ecosystem for Rust Game Development: gl-rs (https://github.com/bjz/gl-rs), glfw-rs (https://github.com/bjz/glfw-rs), cgmath-rs (https://github.com/bjz/cgmath-rs), and possibly rust-graphics (https://github.com/PistonDevelopers/rust-graphics) and piston (https://github.com/PistonDevelopers/piston).
• Corey Richardson: Introduction to OpenGL and Rust. (15-45 min)
• Chip Collier (Remote): how we're structuring Voyager and hoping to use the most of Rust to accomplish our goals. (15 min)
• Colin Sherratt (Remote): Reducing VR latency with Rust: vr-rs (https://github.com/csherratt/vr-rs) and the Oculus Rift. Matthew McPherrin has graciously offered to bring in his Oculus Rift to demo vr-rs in person. (15-20 min)
As always, Mozilla will be graciously providing food and drink.
I hope you can all make it!
