The San Antonio BoBs Motorcycle Riders (SA BoBs) is for men and women who prefer slower paced rides (slower paced means riding at the posted speed limit up to 70 mph).   All types of bikes and all types of riders are welcome. Most rides are around 100 miles, on back roads, and last 4-5 hours including stops and breaks.

We are not a club or formal organization. There are no officers or dues. Our website fees are paid by voluntary donations from sponsors and/or members. 

We have a good mix of bikes and riders who are ready, willing, and able to help you learn safe group riding techniques. Come join us and let's explore this great passion together. For more info or questions, email BoBs Organizer Pam (Strutter), in the left hand column of this page.

What does BoBs stand for? The original San Antonio Beginners on Bikes (SA BoBs) was founded in February, 2007. Originally It was a small group of men who were new to riding or had just returned to riding after a long absence. The group grew quickly and by February, 2009, the group had grown to more than 130 men and women, most of whom had between one and fifty years of riding experience. With the name "Beginners" no longer fitting, the name of the parent group was changed to Hill Country Motorcycle Riders of Texas (HCMR) in February 2009.  http://www.meetup.com/HCMR-of-Texas   SA BoBs continued to cater to beginners.  Once again, with the majority of the SA BoBs being experienced riders, and the group no longer catering to beginners, the name was changed to SA BoBs Motorcycle Riders in November, 2011.  Now, BoBs stands for Band of Bikers, Babes on Bikes, Bikers of Bexar,  or whatever else you want it to stand for.

Although anyone can join this group, to participate in group rides, you must:

*Own a 250cc or greater motorcycle or scooter

*Have at least 500 miles of riding experience within the past 6 months, OR, 100 miles of recent riding experience and completed a MSF riders course.

*Be comfortable riding at speeds up to 70 mph

*Be comfortable riding on hills and curves
