What, where, when, how, and most importantly why OpenStack? OpenStack is, "open source software for creating private and public clouds". Indeed OpenStack is more than just software. OpenStack is a platform made up of a number of components providing control over the most significant aspects of a cloud environment.
"OpenStack software controls large pools of compute, storage, and networking resources throughout a datacenter, managed through a dashboard or via the OpenStack API."
It is definitely a tall order for such a software to undertake, yet OpenStack is up to the task.
We are going to cover the transition from traditional computing in the datacenter, to virtualization at large, on to the idea of the cloud, and then land in the wonderful world of OpenStack.
Everyone will have the opportunity to login to an OpenStack deployment and walkthrough managing users, the instance life cycle, basic networking, and storage solutions. Attendees should expect to walk away with a great foundation of OpenStack knowledge to build upon further.

Currently working as an OpenStack Engineer at Rackspace. I am the husband of Angela and father of Frederick living in Houston, TX. I enjoy spending most of my time learning more about all kinds of aspects of the technology field from innovations in microprocessing, changes in DataCenter infrastructure, to the latest trends in HIDs. I appreciate a good drama movie/show regularly and am always looking for a chance to experience a new adventure in life.
