Tea is the social lubricant of a generation seeking new, exotic flavors and aromas, answers to health concerns, and the next step after the coffee kick (although many of our members are coffee lovers, as well). Our meetups offer the companionship of tea lovers like yourself, so there's always something to chat about.
The tea ritual can bridge gaps, lift moods, and express concern. Taking the time to make a 'spot' of tea is a simple way to comfort a soul in mourning, a body that is aching, or a mind that is racing.
Like coffee and wine, tea can be appreciated in respect to origin (varietal, region and year), its health-related qualities, or simply as an element of relaxation and enjoyment. Whatever your particular areas or level of interest, this group has plenty to offer. The Organizer, Dax, is a student of Chinese gongfu tea service, sometimes called the Chinese tea ceremony. She uses this Asian style for some tasting sessions, while others are Western-styled.
Each meetup is an opportunity to learn something new, as there's lots of tea-talk for hearing about the latest tips, tricks, and finds. Dax enjoys creating custom blends for those who want something totally unique. CLICK HERE to view the tea, fruit, spice and herb cupboard. She also writes articles on tea for the Examiner online newspaper.
Whether your preference is exquisitely frou-frou Victorian tea rooms, the simpler tea-focused atmosphere of Asian tea culture, or the coziness of tea alone or with just a few friends, there are members who share these tendencies. Join us, and meet others who share your interest in tea, good company, and friendship!
