Three short talks this month!

Abstract 1: A short presentation about useful IT administrator experiences with some not-bad practices and lessons learned.

Presenter: Jakub Dworniczak, IT Systems Administrator and Architect with 9 years of experience in medium, large and global companies, both internal IT and as an external managed service provider. Details: http://au.linkedin.com/in/jakubdworniczak

Abstract 2: In five short years, hyperconvergence has gone from being an outlier in the datacenter to gaining mainstream adoption across a broad range of use cases by businesses of all sizes. In this technical talk we will cover off what hyper-converged and web scale actually is, how it works and how it will give you back your weekends!

Presenter: Carlo Nizeti has been an enterprise technologist since Novell Netware days. He has spent time as a Infrastructure Manager, Systems Engineer and Consultant, which gives him a great understanding of the realities of delivering IT. Currently he spends his time at Nutanix building a world class team of Systems Engineers who focus on the design, deployment and management of simple & scalable computing solutions.

Abstract 3: This lightning talk will introduce the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) resource and discuss how and why it can benefit you in your current role and career planning.

Presenter: William Shipway, #InfoSec guy and SAGE-AU executive committee member.
