http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/1/8/8/a/event_94986282.jpegHave we missed Game Night? It's been over a year since our last one . . .alas, life gets in the way. But do not fret, we are resurrecting our Game Night Potluck filled with food and games. Come tantalize your taste buds and challenge your mind with other foodies who also like gaming.

I have decided to forgo a theme and ask that you prepare one of your favorite dishes to share with the ENTIRE group as your "smorgasbord" food contribution. It is March and certainly Irish food would be welcome as an idea such as Irish stew, shepherd's pie. Easter is around the corner which conjures up another set of recipes you may want to try including do I dare say a ham "Sam I am". Or maybe you just have a favorite dish which you want to share. I've seen some of that delicious food that you guys are bringing to the other potlucks! Use your imagination and cook to impress! Certainly, we will also need side dishes and desserts so please don't feel you have to bring an entree unless you get tapped on the shoulder because everyone is bringing a salad or mashed potatoes!

Be sure to check your calendar and sign up early with your proposed dish. Due to the popularity of this event, we fill up pretty quickly but be sure sign up for the Wait List if interested since someone always seems to fall out as the date approaches or I get a last minute sense of generosity and have more people at the house.

Afterwards, we will play some fun parlor games. Bring one of your favorite games to share and for us to choose as a group EXCEPT Bunco which is now big enough for its own event! Games will be just for fun (no money exchanged and keep it friendly because I know it will be competitive). We can have 2-3 groups coordinated and playing games at the same time. Let's play a rousing game of Flash Uno, Scattegories, Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, Pictionary, or Pass the Pig. Just enjoy!

To summarize, please plan to bring the following:

  1. your favorite dish in accordance with what you committed and agreed upon. Please try and avoid the urge to buy your food item(s) fully prepared for the potluck. We are a cooking group and should at least try to brag about your talents to share with the group which I know most of you have.

  2. an alcoholic beverage for you and/or to share (water and soda will be provided)

  3. any one of your favorite games you want to share with the group (optional)

  4. plastic bags or containers to take home leftovers

  5. patience for finding parking - you may have to walk 1-2 blocks.

  6. your game face and puzzle-solving brain cells

Please be sure to list in the comment section on what you are bringing so we can make sure we have all the food items covered. If you see others have signed up already to bring a certain food item, you may want to consider bringing something else.

Event address will be sent out to attendees 2 days prior to the event.

Hope you can join in on this long overdue event of great food and company with our members!
