Super Super Easy Pre-Mother's Day Hike to Hancock Park w Farmer's Market Option

Details

This is a 1 mile, 20 ft elevation gain walk around Hancock Park the Sunday before Mother's Day. Newcomers, Moms, and even Dads are welcome. Hancock Park is home to both the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the La Brea Tar Pits. While it costs money to go into each building, the outside exhibits are free to the public. This includes the Urban Light lampposts, the Levitated Mass exhibit (which we will walk under), and the Tar Pit exhibit (which is still bubbling).

If we're lucky, one of the excavation pit exhibits will also be open.

After our grueling trek, including a short climb on top of the Page Museum roof, there's an optional 3 block walk to the original Farmer's Market for lunch. If you're new to LA or just have never been, these are two places not to be missed.

Bring: comfortable clothing and shoes, sun protection, and money for optional lunch.
