SCA Medieval: Renaissance Armored Combat Group
Have you ever wanted to live in the days of High Chivalry? be a knight or dame (medieval term for a female knight) of renown? Or have you just wanted to learn a bit more about life in the middle ages?.
The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.”
The Canton of Attilum may be just the group you are looking for. A member of the Society for Creative Anachronism we study nearly every aspect of medieval life.
Who We Are
The Canton of Attillium is in Fayetteville, NC and is part of the Barony of Windmasters Hill, a branch of the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is a medieval/renaissance re-enactment organization. We seek to learn about the beauty, chivalry, and knowledge of our past and to share with others the wonders of medieval Europe.
What We Do
We study the time period from the later Roman era to A.D. 1600. We span the U.S., with several chapters overseas. We re-create the fun parts, like feasts, costumes, and sword fighting, but leave out the parts like plagues and beheadings! This Canton resides within the Kingdom of Atlantia, which encompasses all of Maryland, the District of Columbia, North Carolina, South Carolina, most of Virginia and a small portion of Georgia.
Where We Meet
We meet on Sundays at Lake Rim Park off Raeford Rd. for Fighter Practice. We have monthly Populace meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the Month at the Cumberland County Partnership for Children conference room unless otherwise posted to the E-list. If you have any questions or you would like to join, please contact our Chatelaine, Jennifer Kuntz. In the SCA, she goes by the name Eibhlin inghean ui Chiarian, and she is the officer in charge of hospitality. She loves to make people feel welcome to the group and works to make sure people new to the SCA have everything they need to enjoy their first event.
How to Contact Us
