For our May meetup, we will be touring a large organic farm in Valley Center. The farm grows many different types of fruit and produce that you see at our local Farmers Markets, as well as retail stores like Jimbo's and Whole Foods. We will be picking oranges and blueberries. Yes, blueberries! Unfortunately, we will not be able to pick avocados ourselves since there are no low hanging fruit available at this time, but there will be avocado picking demonstration. During the tour, we will also learn about the farm, how organics are grown, challenges, etc, and may even tour their packing warehouse.
