Climb, Scramble, and Explore Joshua Tree
Details
Hey Guys,
Winter is coming and that means it's time to get back to Joshua Tree to do some climbing, rock scrambling, hiking, trail running, and a little caving (Chasm of Doom). The climbing level for this event should be considered beginner/intermediate, based on the leaders that will be setting the routes, but if some more advanced members join and would like to set some more advanced routes, I would be totally open to that. But, rest assured, there will be beginner to intermediate routes available.

Note - Our campsites are very awesome and have multiple climbing routes right at our campsite (and scrambling too).

We will be doing some climbing at Indian Cove and will probably head into the park to do some more climbing at Hidden Valley (Cyclops is a great beginner climb). Exploring The Chasm of Doom is always a blast and doing it at night is even better, but dress warm. A nice evening hike up Ryan Mountain is always a great way to end the day and work up an appetite for dinner. How about starting the day with a trail run to warm you up. That's what I will be doing.
Anyway, there is a lot to do in Joshua Tree besides climbing, but why would you not want to give it a try at one of the best climbing areas in the country? Still on the fence? Check out a few videos from some past trips out here:

Here is what you will need:
• Basic camping gear - Check out our Car Camping Gear List (http://www.sdmicroadventures.com/p/car-camping-checklist-following-is-list.html).
• Basic climbing gear (harness, belay device (atc w/carabiner), climbing shoes (recommended) )
• Food and drinks
• I will have plenty of water for drinking if you don't mind tap water.
Plan on bringing layers of clothes for a moderate to warm day of activity and then a cold to very cold night of sleep. The campgrounds are dry (no running water) as are the bathrooms, so plan accordingly. If you would llike to bring a friend, please have them join the group, then sign up (it will only take a few seconds, I promise). I will be sending out updates as the date gets closer, so take care and I will see you out there!
