Philanthropy Club Monthly Meeting

Details
Itching to celebrate the birthdays of such luminaries as Sam Houston, Carl Schurz, Kurt Weil, Dr. Seuss, Mel Ott, Desi Arnaz, Mikhail Gorbachev, Tom Wolfe, Lou Reed, Karen Carpenter, Jon Bon Jovi, and Ben Rothlisberger? Want to spend 90 scintillating minutes with fellow fundraisers as well as not-for-profit lovers and learn something?
Like freshly brewed, free coffee?
Well then, you’re, once again, in luck. Attend the Philanthropy Club Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011, from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Lawrence Hall Youth Services, 65 East Wacker Place (not Drive!) between Wabash and Michigan Avenues in the 13th Floor Board Room, in downtown Chicago to hear from Nasser Asif, Director of Marketing, See3 Communications (www.see3.net (http://www.see3.net/)).
See3 Communications, an interactive marketing firm that works exclusively with nonprofit and cause organizations, uses new media to activate people and advance social causes. Mr. Asif manages outreach marketing for See3’s client partners and for See3 itself. He is a specialist in strategic communications planning, online fundraising strategy, and new media activation. Previously, Mr. Asif delivered marketing and media campaigns for Procter & Gamble and U.S. Cellular at Starcom Worldwide. At See3 he has brought insights and tactics used by top for-profit brands to the world of nonprofit media.
For years now, Social Media has been lauded as a "gamechanger" by the communications community. Brands and corporations as well as nonprofits and constituency-based organizations have millions of facebook fans, twitter followers, and YouTube subscribers. But no one seems to know exactly what the model is to convert these online followers into donors. This session will give participants an update on the state of social media for nonprofits, identify the most important social media platforms, and provide fundraisers with tips and tricks to help turn their organizations’ and clients’ social media followings into empowered and invested donors and advocates.
Key takeaways from the session will be:
· How to be an online storyteller using social media
· Key tools and technical solutions to provide your social followers with an opportunity to donate
· How to empower your followers to activate their networks to donate
And as always, the Philanthropy Club is free, open to all, meets monthly, and begins and ends on time. Such a deal!
No need to RSVP; JUST SHOW UP!
NOTE: If you don’t wish to receive further Philanthropy Club e-mails, please let me know. In addition, share this with as many colleagues as possible. Feel free to forward me e-mail addresses of individuals who would like to be included in future.
PS: Thanks to Stuart Jamieson for securing our speaker.
