Details
While RSVPs are welcome and appreciated, they are not required for this particular group. Anyone is welcome to attend if they think they would benefit from meeting with this group, or if they think they can contribute to benefit those that attend. People show up who don't RSVP, so the RSVP count is not an accurate measure of attendance.
This meet-up will discuss "Relationships":
> A person with Aspergers can form meaningful and close relationships with parents, spouses, extended family and friends.
> The social skill and communication differences inherent in Asperger's can challenge some relationships.
> There are ways for both the person with Aspergers and loved ones to successfully work through the differences.
We will discuss important ways to help a relationship thrive (i.e. never give up hope). Also, how to learn through research and talking, paying attention to a loved one's specific concerns and personality, figuring out what is important and trying to respect necessary boundaries, and how find common ground whenever possible and cherish it.
Discussion will be moderated, leading to coping and establishing strategies for improving your quality of life.
