WELCOME TO SECOND WIND HIKING

Hello and Welcome to SECOND WIND HIKING! This group is intended for those of all ages who just want to have a more harmonious outcome with nature and what it offers. This group is for people who want to hike at there own pace without the feeling of having to play catch up or wait up for others. Being a member of this group I encourage you to stop and take in a SECOND WIND and look at the scenes and the beauty which will be surrounding you.

There is one question I would like for YOU to ask yourself before joining this group. Is there ever a real need to be in a hurry when you're hiking in Colorado? All you end up doing is looking at the ground instead of what you should be lookin' at!!!

I am a native of Colorado! I'm an avid hiker, camper, fisherman and most everything that has to do with the outdoors except skiing. I fell down too many times and decided I liked riding around on a snowmobile and check out the back country much more. I'll leave the long lines and the slopes to others.

I take on my role as an organizer with a great deal of enthusiasm. I've been known to integrate the history of Colorado in most of my hikes and getaways so others will know what the area was about and how it effects those who now live here. When I post/schedule a hike I do my best to provide information regarding the history, length, altitude and difficulty of the trail we'll be blazing.

In this group we'll put together campouts with hikes, 4x4 trailblazing and with Happenings in towns that are in our vicinity such as Music, Cultural Arts, an occasional Air Show in Rifle!

Expect to experience a variety of hikes with all different degrees of difficulty with most of them between 4-10 miles in length. A high percentage of my hikes have several levels of difficulty combined into one hike. Trail interconnecting is this groups specialty. We at times will change onto another trail to make it longer or shorter…usually longer. You can bet that most of our hikes will astonish you with rock formations, arches, waterfalls and lakes. There are also evening/after work hikes within 40-50 miles from Denver and best of all...I love campfire parties, especially after a hike!
