Opinions welcome: Developing with Backbone.js & Marionette.js

MV* libraries and frameworks are a certainly a debated topic in the JavaScript world these days. Choosing the right solution is a matter of opinion. Or, in the case of Backbone, a lack of opinion. Backbone.js is a lightweight MV* library that stays out of the way, letting developers build according to their own conventions. In this talk, we'll explore the powerful flexibility of Backbone.js, especially when paired with Marionette.js, which adds a set of useful abstractions and utilities, creating the perfect mix of configuration and convention.

Bio for Mark LeMerise
For six years, I was a web developer trapped in a Java developer's body, but I was finally able to make the web my full-time passion. Though I began as a server-side developer, I dabble in the full web stack, and have found a special love for front-end JavaScript. Today, I am a partner at a web application studio in Livonia, and contribute to Codecademy in my spare time.

Have to miss because I am out of town but would love to review a recording and or slides if possible. Would love to hear about cross-domain Ajax calls inside of Backbone. I know Backbone is designed for Restful APIs but would love to see strategies for doing calls to non-restful servers across domains. Thanks
