The Hive @City Camp Palo Alto for the National Day of Civic Hacking!

Details
Saturday, June 1st is the National Day of Civic Hacking (learn more here: http://hackforchange.org/). Downtown Palo Alto will be transformed so that families can enjoy the latest in robotics, maker space and art activities, food, live music and of course, innovation! Event runs from 11am to 7pm.
The Hive is sponsoring CityCamp Palo (http://www.hackpaloalto.org/) Alto and we will have a booth on High Street and University (booth #4).
Join The Hive to hack city data using Hadoop and Big Data technologies. The results will be visualized as a line graph generated in physical space by blowers, ping pongs balls, servos and a programmable controller - all hooked to Hadoop.
Unstructured and structured data - power, waste, demographic, transportation and other city data is ingested into Hadoop which acts as a large data warehouse, The data is crunched using Hadoop.
The physical apparatus will be able to show two lines of data for comparison purposes. One will be generated from green ping pong balls, and the other from red (and many other colors and design!). In this way various trend scenarios can be compared to each other.
