Thanks to two acclaimed experts, Peter Hirshberg and Juliette Melton we will discuss the value based approach of data. Both will address the following question, using past, present, local and international use-cases: What responsible and conscious values make data valuable?

[masked]pm: 'The Power, use and abuse of data', Peter Hirshberg, Re:imagine Group

[masked]pm: 'Bringing numbers to life: Human-centered strategies for getting relevant data and making data relevant', Juliette Melton, Ideo

In this talk, Juliette Melton, an IDEO researcher and strategist, will share our human-centered approach to how we help clients find confidence and innovation through data.

A case study on fishery management shows how ethnographic research and systems-thinking lead to better data and more value from data: in this case, resulting in healthier fish populations.

We’ll show through this case study how the “journey of data” is a framework that can help ground conversations and uncover opportunities for innovation. We’ll discuss ways to use the framework and where we see the greatest opportunities to help companies thrive in the new data-centered world.

[masked]pm: Q&A session

It is my first time to attend this series of events. My comments:
    (a) Peter's talk is OK: A set of big data use cases that prove big data analytics is useful. However, I would expect a speaker provide his own thoughts with certain level of depth.
    (b) Juliette 's talk is definitely not fitting to the level of big data professionals here:)

However, who speakers are all depend on what the objective the organizer tries to achieve for hosting this event.

Peter Hirshberg alone was worth the talk. Unfortunately Juliette Melton presented materials that were too entry level IMHO. It may have been appropriate if her audience was design students, but not industry professionals.
