Helen Zhu, CEO at Chictopia

After eight years in the web industry, it wasn't long before Helen Zhu decided to branch out on her own. A Berkeley graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Helen partnered with then roommates Corinne Chan and Richard Ho to launch Chictopia in April of 2008. Seeking to spearhead a project that would keep their interest, the three settled on fashion; an industry that, in Helen's words, "lacked innovation."

Since its inception, Chictopia has been the leading platform to help brands and individual content creators to come together and build compelling stories about new and interesting campaigns that affect the way we visually present ourselves.

Rachel Barge, Director of Marketing at Yerdle

Rachel Barge is a nationally recognized entrepreneur and environmentalist, being named a Forbes 30 Under 30 this year. Prior to yerdle, Rachel was a partner and head of communications at Greenstart, the venture design studio for green startups based in San Francisco. As the most active seed-stage cleantech venture firm in the country, Rachel helped Greenstart invest in 22 startups over two years.

Rachel founded her first organization at age 22, a consulting firm that worked with universities across the country to establish clean energy revolving loan funds, with $16M established in the first year. She previously served as the Executive Director of the Business Council on Climate Change and of CleantechU. Rachel holds a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies and a minor in Forestry from the University of California – Berkeley. Good event. Rob (Facebook) took his moderator role very seriously and did a good job. But the entrepreneurs panel picked safe, low return business ideas to run with. Yerdle was an interesting one, and Rachel did a good job of storytelling.
