As Hadoop-based enterprise data hubs become increasingly part of standard IT infrastructure, organizations in highly-regulated industries such as financial services, government, and healthcare are seeking to fill the long-standing security and compliance gaps in the Hadoop platform. In this talk, you will learn about the security attributes of the Hadoop ecosystem as it stands today, which gaps need to be filled from both platform and tooling perspectives, and how the open source community is coalescing around efforts such as Project Rhino to make encryption, key management, authentication, unified role-based authorization, and consistent compliance standard platform features.
