Meet the speakers:

Elizabeth (Beth) Parkinson - Market Development Director, Connected Enterprise at Rockwell Automation

Beth Parkinson is responsible for Market Development for the Rockwell Automation Connected Enterprise initiative. The Connected Enterprise is focused on improving industrial performance through tighter integration between the assets on the plant floor and the rest of the enterprise value chain and is accelerated by the Internet of Things and enabling technologies such as security, mobility, scalable computing/cloud and data analytics. In this position, Parkinson’s primary role is focused on developing Rockwell Automation’s strategies and approaches for the market working with sales, marketing, product management and business development. Parkinson joined Rockwell Automation, in 2002 and has various positions in Market Development and Strategic Alliances. Prior to Rockwell Automation, Parkinson worked at business software and internet solutions focused companies including Autodesk, Baan Company, 2Bridge and Citadon.

Aglaia Kong - Vice President/General Manager, Connected Platform Group, Enterprise Networking Group & CTO at Cisco China

Aglaia Kong is the VP/GM for Connected Platform Group in Cisco Enterprise Networking Group, and CTO for Cisco China. She is responsible for product and architecture strategy, strategic partnerships, and innovative technology incubation specifically focusing on China and emerging countries. Driving multiple products/platforms for education, healthcare, retail and data center vertical markets, she increased regional sales growth and opened up new market expansion opportunities. She is a core member of Cisco Cloud Computing and IoT Work Groups which bridge the latest technology and research from industrial to real life needs regarding next generation technology design in China. Prior to Cisco, Aglaia was CTO for Storage & Availability Management Group in Symantec and held the honorable title of Symantec Fellow. She has over 12 patents and many publications

Rohit Bhargava - CTO, WW Manufacturing & Resources Sector at Microsoft

Rohit is responsible for establishing and driving the long term vision and technology strategy across Microsoft’s worldwide Discrete Manufacturing industries including Automotive, High Tech, Industrial Equipment and Aerospace.. He engages with enterprise customers and globally managed partners to ensure realization of highest business value from their investments in Microsoft solutions & products, provides industry guidance through industry reference architectures, and connects with internal business and product groups to advocate the needs of manufacturing customers. Rohit has been in this role for 9 years and with Microsoft for 11 years. He has over 25 years of experience developing products for industrial automation and manufacturing ranging from computer-aided design, robotics, vision systems, manufacturing execution systems, and supply chain solutions. Prior to Microsoft, Rohit was a co-founder and Director of Applications of a supply chain company, SKYVA International (Boston, MA), that was acquired by ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) in 2003. He has a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.

Mitch Vaughn - Principal Engineer, HMI Center of Competence at Siemens Industry US

Mitch is responsible for the strategic technology direction of the Siemens HMI Center of Competence. In his 37 years of industrial software experience, he has held strategic technology and marketing leadership positions. Mitch came to Siemens through a series of acquisitions beginning with the 2003 acquisition of USDATA, ending with the 2007 acquisition of UGS by Siemens. Mitch served as the CTO of USDATA where he led the development of REACT, the industry's first user configurable human-machine interface (HMI) for PLCs. He has participated in the evolution of many key industry standards and holds three influential SCADA / HMI industry patents. One of these led to FactoryLink, the industry’s first open architecture SCADA / HMI software product. Most recently, Mitch has provided technology and design guidance for Digital Factory solutions incorporating Siemens portfolio products including HMI, SCADA, MES and PLM.

Jeff Johnson- fmr Group VP at ABB (Moderator)

Jeffrey is currently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Firelake Capital in Palo Alto, CA. Previously, he was a Group Vice President and Head of Business Development, Marketing & Customer Solutions for ABB at their Zürich, Switzerland HQ focused on global growth and innovation opportunities across the power and automation businesses. Before ABB, Jeffrey had responsibility for Global Corporate Development at Better Place, the ambitious electric car network company, overseeing equity and debt fund raising. Prior to this, he worked in a variety of business development and product management roles for specialized analytical software companies, including Vendavo and Rapt (acquired by Microsoft). Jeffrey holds a master’s degree in engineering systems from MIT and bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Florida.
