Hiroshima is coming to Yoshi?s San Francisco for a Holiday Concert on Sunday night, December 19th!
In the three decades since they first convened, this popular LA-based band has blended jazz, pop, and rock with traditional Japanese folk music and instruments. While Hiroshima have sold more than three million records in their prolific career, they?ve done something even more important in the process: they?ve introduced a variety of traditional Asian instruments to a global audience, and integrated them seamlessly into a new music and art form. The Japanese koto, a zither-like, 13-stringed instrument, shakuhachi, a five holed bamboo flute, and the powerful taiko (which literally means ?drum?) combine with instruments from the Western Hemisphere to create their unique musical palette. Learn more about Hiroshima and their music at www.hiroshimamusic.com.
?Open Seating? tickets for the 7pm show are $31 per person (including Yoshi?s $3 ticketing fee). If we have at least 10 people in our group with ?Open Seating? tickets, I can submit our names to Yoshi?s in advance so we can sit together. If we get fewer than 10 people, we need to arrive by 6pm to grab unassigned seats in the back of the club. Yoshi?s is small enough so that even the seats in the back are great seats. Please purchase your own ?Open Seating? tickets
for the Sunday 7pm show on Yoshi's website http://sfyoshis2.inticketing.com/events/126385/HIROSHIMA--7PM
, and then go to our Meetup Event page and RSVP "Yes"

We will meet at the bar at 6pm so we can chat over a drink before the show starts. We can order appetizers and small plates as well as drinks during the show, so you won?t have to eat dinner beforehand. Hope to see you there!
