Lost Coin continues a tradition of evolving the presentation of the Dharma while retaining its central essence. Founded by Daniel Doen Silberberg Sensei in 2006, Lost Coin incorporates Zen teachings and methods with insights and practices derived from other wisdom traditions—most notably, those of G.I. Gurdjieff. It is an approach that abandons traditional religious and cultural trappings in order to embrace and unite with contemporary development in science, technology and art. In the individual practitioner’s case this translates to an emphasis on development in one’s daily life rather than some of the more retiring methods of the past. Here and now means here and now.

Lost Coin also draws heavily on insights from modern science and culture, and never loses sight of the fact that few of us lead monastic lives, but instead are actively engaged in the world: working, raising families, living in variousrelationships and communities, and following different passions. Science, technology, the arts, contemporary events—all are fodder for recognizing our own essential natures and learning and practicing the Dharma.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
