Events will resume in February...
Please come to my simple and cozy home for silent meditation, tea, and group acupuncture! You are welcome to take part in some or all.

Combining acupuncture and meditation amplifies the energy of both, since they both powerfully cultivate qi (life energy). And conducting these activities in a group setting taps into a profound group energy that also magnifies the benefit.

9:45am Arrive. Help set up, settle in, say hi to each other. New folks, this is a good time to ask questions and get comfortable.

10-10:30am: 30-minute silent meditation, with occasional commentary and live music for guidance and inspiration. This is a relaxed setting, and you are welcome to meditate silently in any style that is comfortable for you. You can bring your own zafu (meditation cushion); I have available one zafu, blankets to fold up and sit on, and a variety of chairs. There is no cost for the meditation gathering.
10:30am-11am: 30 minutes of tea and discussion. You are welcome to sit for tea, or stretch on the ground, and generally relax and enjoy some community time. You can also use this time to fill out a form giving me details of your health so that I can better tailor your acupuncture treatment.
11am to noon: The space is converted for group acupuncture. In addition to the benefit of the group healing energy, group acupuncture is less costly than private sessions. Sliding scale donation of $25-60 is requested for acupuncture. (The meditation is free, and there is no obligation or pressure to stay for acupuncture.)

I am posting the Meditation/Tea portion and the Acupuncture portion as separate MeetUps, so sign up for both if you plan to attend both. Attendance is limited.
Group acupuncture is a little different from private acupuncture. To know more, here is my article on group acupuncture:
About Unity Nguyen: As the first licensed acupuncturist to graduate from UCSF School of Medicine, I love to integrate my 11 years of Chinese Medicine practice with Functional Medicine, which is the cutting edge of holistic Western biomedicine. The roots of my health practice started with my family, where I trained in medicinal massage since age 5. My family also grounded me in a lifetime of community cultural empowerment through music. I play traditional instruments from Viet Nam and West Africa and raise money and awareness for many health projects locally and globally. I am very happy to share with you a combination of things I love through this Meetup: meditation, community, acupuncture, and a little traditional music!
