Long Lost Treasures from Tournée of Animation

Details

It is not directly 3D related (the films pre-date most 3D technology by some way, and certainly won't involve any CG) but this month we'll be attending an animation event at the Coppola Theatre at SF State campus in Park Merced.

The Tournée of Animation was a festival of animated short films from all over the world that ran from the 1960s to the 1980s. This event (http://cinema.sfsu.edu/news-in-brief/2014/2766) will feature the best animated shorts from the history of the festival in their original 16mm format. It will be the last chance to see many of these films before they are archived at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in LA. If you have any interest in animation (computer based or traditional) this will be a fascinating event. It is free and open to the public.

I suspect it will be hard to meetup at the event itself which starts at 7pm. So before this we'll be having our usual monthly happy hour (https://www.meetup.com/SF-NURDs/events/214991782/) at a nearby bar, then heading over to Coppola Theatre.
