Testify in support of 351 new units at 16th and Mission

What does this have to do with the school board?!

The building, if built, will shadow Marshall Elementary School. This gives the school district the option of either opposing the project, or supporting the project in exchange for concessions.

A coalition of affordable housing non-profits are organizing people to go to the subcommittee meeting to testify on "the devastating impacts that the proposed 10-story luxury housing project and boutique businesses will have on the poor and working peoples of 16th Street corridor." http://plaza16.org/meetings/

The point of this meetup will be to testify that because the demand for housing in the mission far outstrips the supply of housing in the mission, the effect of NOT building will be far more devastating. Displacement is guaranteed when there are more people than housing units.
