Are you building a startup -- and what is it about? If not, what is the role of Scala in your company?

At StackMob, we built high-performance, low-latency asynchronous backend systems using Akka and Spray. We are now translating that experience to improving architecture at PayPal.

Is your Scala talking to a web or mobile client, and if so, how?

At StackMob, our Scala services talked to both web and mobile clients using Spray, and to backend services similarly.

Are you able to host meetups, and for how many, and/or do you like to present?

About presenting, I love to talk my head off, if the topic is compelling enough. About hosting, ask me, and I'll pass the idea up to someone who would be able to give an answer. ;)

What Scala technologies are you interested in?

Most notably, Akka and Spray are my interests, as they are the technologies most directly related to my current work. As an extension of these, I am also interested in ongoing development with Jackson's Scala integration, useful plugins for SBT, and test frameworks using Scala such as Specs2 and ScalaCheck, among others.

What Andrew H. is saying about this Meetup Group

[5 star; why can't I rate this one?] Similar comments as Typesafe: friendly, well-prepared. The notion of publicly shaming no-shows was actually pretty amusing, and I hope it catches on at future events. :)
