Erik is writing a book... one blog entry at a time and so can you!  Learn about the tools and processes to make book-writing easy and fun!  Erik will share his own writing adventure along with some of the lesser known tips for creating a book using WordPress. Who doesn’t have a book in them waiting to be published?

Session 2 - Rosie Taylor - How to Self-publish and Promote Your Book

Rosie just finished writing and self-publishing her book Renewable Referrals.  Learn the simple steps of self-publishing and promoting the book online. Rosie will pull back the curtain to show you some of the tools that can put you on the road to best seller status. Learn how easy it is to publish and sell a book in today's connected society using WordPress and Social Media.

It will certainly be interesting to learn how you can do can create and market books with WordPress.

Yipes, I was just getting ready to take my steak off the griddle and figured I'd catch up on my email . OK, so it's 6:45 but I guess I can still get there before things really get going. The steak is gone now.

Cynergy, your content is copyrighted independently of its medium. In other words, you can copyright it if it's on a CD, in print, or on a blog; the container makes no difference—and you don't even have to file a formal application.

Most commonly, publishers create ePub files and then upload them to popular bookstores like Amazon for distribution. No attorney required. You can also use various WordPress plugins to distribute digital downloads, but though you get to keep 100% of the net, you have to drive a lot of traffic to your site to make it pay. Most self-publishers work within the bookstore ecosystem because even though it costs 30–70%, that's where readers look for books.

I'm sure the event planners and speakers will have their own solutions and ideas. Publishing is an open frontier and you'll find many new answers to many new questions. Do your homework. Read my blog and others like so you can get info from multiple sources.

How do you copyright a blog book, get royalties and protect your work? Do you need an attorney, how does publishing on line work vs real world selling to publishers, which I was not successful at? Thanks

How does publishing a book through Wordpress compare price wise to standard publishing rates and how do sales and book tours work?
