Otherkin Meetup at PantheaCon - Room 857

The meetup will begin at 5:30 PM on Saturday, February 15th. Ending time is set for 9:30 PM, but if past experience is anything to go by, folks may be around until 11 PM+.

You do not have to attend PantheaCon to come to this meetup. It will be held in Arethinn and Celebron's hotel room, so no badge is required to enter. An RSVP is appreciated, but not required. However, if you are planning to drive to the con just for this meetup, see the note on parking at the end of this announcement. (PantheaCon website, Hotel website)

Be aware that there may be unaccompanied minors present. The meetup will be advertised via flyers and the majority of attendees will come from the general con population, which includes minors. This is not an "adult" topic, so there will be no attempt to "bounce" those who are under 18. Plan for yourself accordingly.

Some snacks and drinks will be provided, including some alcoholic beverages (cider, wine) only for those 21+ with valid photo ID. Please bring your own cup or glass if you can! Feel free to bring food or drink to share, though there is not a lot of table space. If you choose to bring something, please be prepared to take it away again if it's not consumed.

Donations of a few dollars towards the cost of food, drink, and supplies will be greatly appreciated! :)

Note on parking: If you are not a guest of  the DoubleTree, the hotel charges $19 for self-parking ($24+tip for valet). To avoid this you can try to park in the overflow lot, which is the parking lot of the neighboring office buildings further down Gateway Place. You might also be able to get away with parking at the restaurants or offices across Airport Parkway on Technology Drive, and walking across the street. I take no responsibility if your car is towed, however!

I am very much hoping to attend Pantheacon for the first time this year, and would love to come, if possible. Unfortunately I won't be able to get Friday off work, so I'm crossing my fingers for the potential Saturday option. :)

      Hope you can make it!

Last year modern-unicorn (hmmm, she seems to have deleted her tumblr under that name; not the same person as modernunicorn there) showed up to the meet. Don't know if we had any other unicorns off the top of my head. It was a pretty eclectic mix, anyway.

I will be at Pantheacon this year (yay!), but probably not on Friday. My boyfriend & I will be there Saturday through closing. Should be interesting, he doesn't know about the 'kin thing yet. Eep! <... grin... > (Not the boyfriend you've met in the past.)

At this point I am thinking Saturday very likely, and maybe additional Friday 50/50, but not likely Friday only. For one thing we don't think we'd have enough time for people to see the flyers and things.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
