I, Frankenstein (Movie meetup - no reading required!)

Come join us as we watch I, Frankenstein (view the trailer), written and directed by Stuart Beattie (TOMORROW, WHEN THE WAR BEGAN). The film is co-written by Kevin Grevioux (UNDERWORLD), and stars Aaron Eckhart (BATTLE: LOS ANGELES; THE DARK KNIGHT), Bill Nighy (HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS; PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST; UNDERWORLD), Miranda Otto (WAR OF THE WORLDS; FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX; THE TWO TOWERS), Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck", "Dexter"), and Virginie le Brun.

From ComingSoon:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

The movie is rated PG-13. We will be seeing the 3D version.

UPDATE: PLEASE READ!

We'll be attending the 2:00 PM showtime for the 3D version of the film. You may wish to save time and ensure your spot by buying your tickets online here (in case the link says the showtime is no longer available, just select "Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014" and the 2:00 showtime and it should work). Fandango does charge a convenience fee, but you can waive it by using the following AMC Stubs #:[masked]. (Note: I know there were some problems retrieving tickets that were bought this way in the past, but we've ironed them out. Just bring the credit card you used to pay for the ticket and you'll be all set, whether you use an automated kiosk or a teller). We'll be going to Ted's Montana Grill for lunch before the movie. If you plan to attend, you must RSVP separately for February's Pre-Movie Lunch (no reading required!).

We ask that you please meet up with the group before the movie so we can accurately take attendance. If you arrive before the meetup starts, we'll be congregating just past the ticket checker on the main level. After that prior to the showtime, we'll start saving seats (to the extent we can for a group this big) and you can meet us right outside the entrance to our theatre room. If you arrive late, please send me a note that you made it to the event.

Lastly, we do ask that if you attend a movie screening with us, that you please refrain from talking during the movie or disrupting the experience for other guests. We want everyone in the group to be able to hear and enjoy their movie experience, and we also would like to maintain a positive relationship with the theatre, so your cooperation is appreciated. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the movie during dinner.

Please update your RSVP and guestcount if you will not be attending!

First time, definitely showing my introversion mostly just hovering and eating, but it was good to see such a self-comfortable crowd. The movie was meh, but that's what I expected anyways. =)

Did I really just cry when a gargoyle ascended? Intervention needed.

Sorry to miss this but I'm still very congested and really tired. I think it's best if I skip this so I don't infect someone in such an enclosed space.

I have a bad cold this week, so I changed my RSVP for the Karaoke and the luncheon. I still want to make the movie and will go if I'm feeling better. I will see how I'm feeling Saturday and decide then.

Hi everyone, just a note that we've rescheduled the post-movie dinner into a pre-movie lunch, on account of Super Bowl Sunday. We should be out of the movie in plenty of time for you to get to your homes or parties well before kickoff. Thanks!
