Come join us as we watch LOOPER (view the trailer), the new science fiction action film directed and written by Rian Johnson (BRICK, THE BROTHERS BLOOM), winner of the 2005 Sundance Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, INCEPTION, 500 DAYS OF SUMMER), Bruce Willis (THE SIXTH SENSE, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, SIN CITY), Emily Blunt (THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, THE YOUNG VICTORIA), Paul Dano (COWBOYS & ALIENS, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR), Noah Segan ("Kablam!"), Piper Perabo ("Covert Affairs", THE PRESTIGE, COYOTE UGLY), and Jeff Daniels ("The Newsroom", GETTYSBURG, "God of Carnage").
In 2072, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.
"The best sci-fi movie since MOON. The best time-travel yarn since 12 MONKEYS. And one of the best films of 2012. You’ll immediately want to see it again." – Total Film
UPDATE (PLEASE READ):
We'll be attending the 2:15 PM showtime. You may wish to save time and ensure your spot by buying your tickets online here (in case the link says the showtime is no longer available, just select "Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012" and the 2:15 showtime and it should work). Fandango does charge a convenience fee, but you can waive it by using the following AMC Stubs #: [masked]. We'll be going to Ted's Montana Grill for dinner around 5pm. If you plan to attend, you must RSVP separately for October's Dinner (no reading required!).
We ask that you please meet up with the group before the movie so we can accurately take attendance. If you arrive before 1:45 PM, we'll be standing downstairs near the escalators (in front of the ticket line and automated ticket machines). After that prior to the showtime, we'll start saving seats (to the extent we can for a group this big) and you can meet us right outside the entrance to our theatre room. If you arrive late, we'll re-congregate after the movie immediately outside our theatre room before walking over to the restaurant.
We do ask that if you attend a movie screening with us, that you please refrain from talking loudly during the movie or disrupting the experience for other guests. We want everyone in the group to be able to hear and enjoy their movie experience, and we also would like to maintain a positive relationship with the theatre, so your cooperation is appreciated. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the movie during dinner.
Please update your RSVP and guestcount if you will not be attending!
