Let's head up to Mt. Lukens through Deukmejian park. The hike is about 9 miles and 2700' of elevation gain. There's nice views of LA from the peak, and of the Angeles Forest to the north.

Drive into the park and head for the parking lot near the bathrooms. We'll meet there. We'll wait until 8:15 and then leave promptly.

This hike is a good workout, at about 600 feet per mile. Bring a minimum of 2 liters of water and some snacks or lunch at the top, where there will be some not-so-thrilling shacks and antennas. But with nice views! I hope to see you there.
