Visit Wild View Peak (7258') via Acorn Trail

Let's do an extremely strenuous rolling hike through this beautiful backcountry area to visit a peak we missed on our last visit, Wild View Peak (7258'), a recent addition to the HPS list.

We'll start in Wrightwood, on the forested Acorn Tr, which is nice, but reasonably steep, gaining 2000' in just 2.5 miles. From the top, short walk on the PCT takes us to Lupine Canyon Road, a fireroad, which we descend 3 more miles to Lupine Camp.

The last 1000' or so of gain will be on degraded Fish Fork Trail, with a short stint of use-trail to attain the summit.

We will return the way we came.

It takes nearly an hour to drive from Sport Chalet to Wrightwood-- that's why the start time is so early.
