This extremely strenuous hike has a very large amount of gain on return from the summit.

The route to Ross Mountain begins at the the summit of Baden-Powell, and begins with a steep decent of nearly 2000'. The trail is not particularly clear as it attempts to skirt around some subsidiary peaks. There's a little steep gain on a use-trail to attain the summit, then it'll be time for the really hard part of the hike, regaining the summit of Baden-Powell. Finally, return to the cars as we came.
