Details

8 miles round trip, 2800' elevation gain.

Mt. Baden-Powell, at 9399', is the second highest peak in the range. This peak features some of the best vievs in the range as well as Limber Pines at the summit, some of which are 2000 years old.

The trail, though realitively easy from a peak point of view, still manages to contain 41 switchbacks, the most of any in the range. At the top there is a Boy Scout monument, Along with views towards Mt Baldy, The East Fork of the San Gabriel River, and the Mojave Desert.

Directions: From the San Gabriel Valley, Take I-210 west towards La Canada to the Angeles Crest Exit( hwy 2). Follow Hwy 2 53 miles to the Vincent Gap parking lot, 5.5 miles from Big Pines.

An alternate route would be to take i-210 east to I-15 north. Exit at Hwy 138 towards Wrightwood. From Wrightwood, take Hwy 2 up to the Vincent Gap Parking lot.

Depending on the number of people going, we may want to try to coordinate carpools to try to limit the amount of vehicles going to the trailhead, please feel free to open the discussions if you are interested in Carpooling.
