Three Points to Twin Peaks 15 miles 5100 elevation gain

Details
The trail head is located off Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 52.80 about 27 miles from the 210 in La Canada. You will see a sign "Sulphur Spr. Rd" and just after that another sign "Sulphur Spr./Santa Clara Div. Rd." and this is where you turn left. The parking lot is just to your left as you turn onto this road. You need an Adventure Pass to park here.
The beginning of the trail is a bit exposed because of the fire and you'll see many burned out trees. You'll also see many odd and interestingly shaped boulders along the way. Further in things get a bit more shaded; there are many little meadowy areas, lovely trees and wide views of the surrounding mountains. The mile to Twin Peaks Saddle goes down so this is something we'll have to go back up when we return this way.
The really fun part is the last three quarters of a mile or so to the top of Twin Peaks...it is STEEP. There are some short sections that involve a bit of scrambling. If you are not comfortable with any scrambling you may not want to attempt the peaks. However, if you do make it up the view is worth it. It is expansive and sweeping all around, and the top is like a big playground of trees and boulders.
Anyone who just wants to go as far as the saddle and then return is welcome to do so. The hike to the saddle is still a good workout with plenty of sights to see.
This will be an all day hike so the sooner we start the better. I went through almost 4 liters of water and Gatorade when I did this so please bring PLENTY of water, an energy drink of some form, lunch and snacks.
In case the weather gets a bit chilly up there, pack a light windbreaker.
