Inspiration Point Hike - 10.4 miles and 2740' gain

Distance: 10.4 miles

Elevation Gain: ~2740 feet

Duration: 4 - 5 hours, with rests

Difficulty: Moderate (if you ever hike with this group). Not for beginner.

Trail Condition: Well maintained

Street parking - please give yourself extra 5-10 minutes to find parking.

PLEASE BRING: Sturdy shoes, at least 2 liters of water, snacks or lunch, sunscreen, a hat, layers and your ten essentials.

How To Get There: From the 210 Freeway take Lave Ave exit, driving north: until the end of Lake Ave. (Lake Ave and E Loma Alta Dr.

Hike Description: This is a very good training hike but not for beginner. There a lot of history and beautiful spots in this trail. We will start from the gate outside the Cobb Estate, take the trail (about 2.7 miles) to Echo Mountain where we can see the remnant of a resort. We will then continue to take the Castle Canyon trail all the way to Inspiration Point. The Castle Canyon is a beautiful trail and a nice change compare to the first half of the trail (up to Echo Mountain). On the way back we will take Sam Merril trail down back to Echo Mountain and back to the trail head.
