Gould Mesa to Royal Gorge exploratory

Stats:
12.5 miles round trip.
Elevation gain/loss 1600 ft.

This hike will take us to the bottom of the falls in Royal Gorge. About half of the hike will be on trail and we will pass Oakwilde picnic area. We will be following the Gabriellano trail until it leaves the Arroyo Seco where we leave the trail and continue up the Arroyo Seco. From there, we will probably be boulder hopping and wading to the pool, so we will probably get wet. Weather will decide if this is a go.

Directions to trailhead:
If you are coming from the west of La Canada,take the 210, exit on Hwy 2 north, Angeles crest hwy. If you are coming from the east of La Canada,take the 210, Exit Angeles crest hwy north, from the south, Take the 2 north past the 210 to HWY 2.
The Trailhead is at mile 26.4 on Angeles Crest Hwy, about 2 miles north of the 210.
