Sewa Day is fast approaching on 7th October and I’ve already heard lots of great ideas for projects and activities that you will be holding or taking part in. Here are just a few things going on in East London that are helping to combat poverty, help the environment and spread a little cheer to give you some inspiration:
1. Teaching computer skills to the elderly
2. Yoga and well being workshop
3. Planting solidarity trees between different faith communities
4. Cooking for the homeless
5. Free car washing
6. Talks and seminars
7. Free golden oldies evening
With UNESCO recently endorsing the work that Sewa Day partners and volunteers conduct, there is no better time to get involved!
If you are still unsure and would like to discuss your project with me, do get in touch on[masked]
If you know what you are going to be doing- please make sure that you register here: http://www.sewaday.org/get-involved/register/
To help kickstart any promotion for events that you will be holding, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the social media workshop exclusively made for Sewa Day. Use social networking effectively to promote your events and build skills that will aid you at work too. You will also be able to pick up your 2012 Sewa Day T-shirts on the day. Please get in touch with me on [masked] by 30th August if you would like to attend- there are limited places available. I’d appreciate if you could pass this onto anyone who is interested.
