Singles Cinema is a casual, informal easy-going group of folks who like going to the movies and having a bite to eat afterward to discuss the movie and enjoy each others' company.  

MUST BE AGE 40+ AND SINGLE TO JOIN 

THEATER LOCATION

 In order to accommodate all members, Singles Cinema travels to nearly all movie theaters throughout the entire St. Louis metropolitan area (including St. Charles & St. Peters). 

MOVIE SELECTION

  All movie genre is covered in order to suit the interests of all members. Since most  theaters update it's movie listing and show times on Wednesday of each week, we are unable to choose a movie in advance.  When the new listings are posted for the week we are going to the movies, members are notified the Thursday morning before the selected day of the movie.  Members vote on the website that Thursday by clicking on the "More" tab, clicking on "Poll" and then voting for the movie of your choice.  Movie selection is announced to members via e-mail on Fridays.   

MEETING TIME

  Members should meet in the theater lobby 15 minutes before the movie begins so that you have enough time to purchase tickets & snacks.   

TICKET PURCHASE

Members are responsible for getting their own movie ticket for each movie. 

RESTAURANT SELECTION

For convenience, selected restaurants are typically within 1 mile of each movie theater. Reservations are always made in advance so that there is no waiting when we arrive, and we are all able to sit together (or as close to it as possible).  Occassionally we go to a restaurant that may be n the $20+ range, but will still have a diverse enough menu to meet everyone's budget.  Suggestions for restaurants in any area are always welcome! 

ATTENDENCE

 Attendence for each movie is limited to 30 members, so that restaurants are able to accommode a group of our size. If you RSVP "Yes", but later decide not to go, please update your RSVP to "No" as soon as possible that those on the waiting list may attend. If you do not want to go to the movie, you can still attend the dinner (and vice versa).  Any member who signs up, but doesn't show up, up to 3 times, is automatically removed from the group.    

MEMBER FEES

 There are no membership fees for this group; however, there is a $1 fee to cover the monthy Meetup subscription cost. Please pay the group organizer at whatever movie you attend. Members pay only once per month, regardless of how many movies you attend.   

MEMBERSHIP STATUS

In order to keep the group at a managable size, and have only "active" members, anyone who has been inactive for over 12 months will be removed from the group.  Anyone is welcome to rejoin, if they like. 

GROUP COMMUNICATION

  Members are encouraged to use the Message Board for coordinating random movie outings with each other.  Members are not allowed to set up an outing on the same day of a regularly scheduled group event. The Message Board is not to be used for advertising of any other social events, including another Meetup group's event, or that of a local singles group (outside of Meetup).
