This highly-praised "Beginner Photography" workshop, we will cover the essentials of using your camera effectively. You will learn how ISO (ASA to all you film-junkies), shutter speed, and aperture (that "f-stop" thing you always hear about, but never quite grasped) all work together for optimal exposure. You will learn, on your own camera, how to adjust your controls to get the shots that you have always wanted, but couldn't quite figure out on your own.
We will discuss in detail the most important tips to getting better photos. During the class, you will have the opportunity to perfect and show off your newly found skills using several still life set ups and a model.
Our goal is for you to be comfortable with your camera and its settings, while having fun along the way. As a bonus, you should also be able to get several great photos during class to start (or add to) your personal portfolio.
Again, our beginner photography class will be on Thursday October 25th from 7 -9 pm. We look forward to meeting you.
SOME IMPORTANT ITEMS TO NOTE:
The small fee of $5 helps us cover the cost of the Beginner Photography content and the professional model.
We will provide an electronic handout so that you do not have to worry about taking detailed notes. We will have a lot to cover and will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Feel free to arrive up to 30 minutes early and browse the current photo exhibition by Jen Fairchild in our 3,500 sq. ft. studio/gallery.
Parking is available on the street, though many prefer to park at the south end of the Gateway Mall and walk or TRAX the three minutes to the studio. The "Old GreekTown" TRAX stop is just feet away from the SLC Photo Collective. Just do NOT park behind the studio – they tow cars in that parking lot.
