The Good Struggle: Responsible Leadership in an Unforgiving World

Please join us for our next Level 7 Private Author Breakfast Wednesday, February 26th at The Employers Association from 7:30 am to 9:30 am. We will continue our discussion on leadership with Joseph Badaracco author of The Good Struggle: Responsible Leadership in an Unforgiving World. His recently released book on leadership. He has some surprising things to say for and about business owners and entrepreneurs and the lessons they are teaching to the corporate world.

Leadership is struggle. This struggle has invalidated many answers to leadership questions creating a need for a new model of leadership. This can be found in entrepreneurs. In this book, Harvard Business School Professor Joseph Badaracco answers this question in practical and, at times, provocative ways. Join us and learn:

· What Badaracco calls "the new invisible hand"--powerful, pervasive markets that touch and shape almost everything. As a result, understanding the inevitability and importance of struggle is critical.

· To stay focused on what matters despite the turbulence around you, and keep on the path to leading successfully and responsibly in our uncertain, high-pressure, turbulent world.

· The lessons learned by entrepreneurs and business owners that need to be learned by the rest of the business world

Joseph Badaracco, is a Professor of Business at Harvard Business School. He is also the senior associate dean and the chair of the MBA program. Joseph Badaracco is a graduate of St. Louis University, Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA and a DBA. Badaracco’s other books include: Questions of Character, Leading Quietly: An Unorthodox Guide to Doing the Right Thing, Defining Moments: When Managers Must Choose Between Right and Right, and Business Ethics: Roles and Responsibilities.
