Meet other local home sewers who would welcome help and suggestions for designing and fitting home-sewn clothing, correcting construction errors and perfecting sewing technique for garments, home decorating and crafts.
Have you ever tried to single-handedly pin up a hem while bending over to measure the distance from the floor and inserting the pins? How about adjusting the back of a blouse by yourself? Have you ever cried out to your mother to help, knowing full well she's been gone these many years?
This group will try to fill the void felt by beginners and experienced seamstresses who are working without assistance or supervision. We will pool our resources, references and experience to create sewing projects which are a credit to our talent and craft instead of abominations relegated to the bottom drawer (under love letters from the guy/or girl who got away).
Especially in these times of enforced thrift, no one can afford costly mistakes.
For the same reason we intend to have fun, not take it too seriously, have potluck snacks or meals and make new like-minded or "like-frustrated" friends.
If this sounds like you, please join us!
