Farmer's Market at Ferry Building, tour and lunch
Details
I suggested this event to Nichole the other day only to find out that she made me a co-organizer of SOUL, saying 'go ahead, you can do it'. Not exactly what I had in mind, given my busy schedule, but here I am, and am happy to organize and lead our first farmer's market tour. Why not, I am there any given Saturday anyway.
Although we can do so many things there, I'd like to focus on outdoor tables where local farmers sell their own produce. I'll be buying seasonal fruits and veggies as we go, and am happy to share tips and descriptions of local varieties and farm locations, if you like to hear it. After that, we can decide on where to go for lunch (so many choices), and perhaps wrap up with a short tour of indoor shops.
I am not sure how many people would sign up for this, and considering the usual Saturday crowd at Ferry Building, it might be wise to start with a smaller group, let's say up to 8 SOUL members. If more people are interested, we can do it in two or three Saturdays, starting with June 2nd.
Disclaimer: I have a day-job that has nothing to do with local tourism and farming; I am not affiliated with agencies or organizations offering tours in SF Bay Area. And last but not least, I am neither afiliated with nor endorsed by any of the local farmers or shop owners at Ferry Builiding Farmer's Market.
