G+ Fairlie Poplar Photo Walk

Google + is doing a 2yr Anniversary "worldwide" Photo Walk event and we're participating!

We'll meet just inside the south end of the park, across from CNN, at the Concert Stage. I'll have walking maps and in general we'll do a 2.5-3hr loop that will wind us through this great architectural area and end up back where we started.

You never know what you'll see in this area! Shoot wide, shoot long, or bring your favorite "novelty" lens. Tripods should be left behind since we'll otherwise create a bit of a hazard on the sidewalks.

Great walk, for those who missed it, we even went to the top of the William Oliver building WhoWa!

I hope to see some pictures of the buildings too! I went back today and took more than I did yesterday.

Thanks, Ken, for getting this together. I've been wanting to shoot the buildings in Atlanta for some time and the rooftop shoot from the William Oliver just made my day.

Great weather, fun group of people, and some unique opportunities with street people and a trip to the roof of one of the area's classic 1930s buildings, the William Oliver.

Enjoyed meeting and talking with new people. The rooftop view from the William Oliver was a bonus and the weather cooperated.

It was just wonderful today! We got to go inside the Oliver Bldg...even up the elevator to the roof and shoot. Fabulous! Had some interesting conversations with homies, etc...even a marriage proposal! What more can you ask!

Is parking available at Centennial Olympic Park? Or do you recommend using MARTA?

    June 26, 2013

    • John M.

There's plenty of parking around the park and there appears to be no major events this Sat to cause problems. The Marta rail station at CNN is close by as well if you don't want to drive into downtown.

Is anyone from the Lilburn area going down for it...I'd love to go with someone. It was great fun a couple of years ago and I got some really wonderful material from it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
