Astro/night photography at Brasstown Bald

On this night, we'll have a new moon and the Lyriad meteor shower at the same time. Should be a nice evening for star gazing and picture taking. The sun is scheduled to set at 8:11pm so the stars will be seen around 9:00. The best times for viewing the meteors will be early morning from the northeast.

Click on this link for more information about the Lyriads (http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/earthskys-meteor-shower-guide). You can plan to come spend a couple hours then head home or even stay through the evening. Up to you since the National Forest Service does not close the gate.
