We believe there is an enormous value in joining forces to tackle gaps in the healthcare systems and produce better outcomes for patients and customers. Therefore we want to foster the conversation between Biotechs and Digital Health Startups; we want to stimulate projects aiming at a collaboration between wet lab researchers and software/hardware developers working in healthcare.

For this, we are organizing this Hackathon, Monday 13. July afterwork, at the Bayer Pharma Headquarters in Berlin. We are calling students, software and hardware developers, digital health startups, biotech startups, technologists, scientists, biologists, bioinformaticians, chemists, data analysts, designers, social media networkers, freelancers, established companies, institutes or organizations, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, essentially anyone interested in life sciences, healthcare technologies and related businesses, and stakeholders in the healthcare system, to come and join the Hackathon!

Pitch your idea spontaneously and build a team with the objective of conceptualize possible projects and develop a first business case within 1,5 hours!

The event is jointly organized by Bayer Pharma AG, Berlin Partner, BIO Deutschland, DexLeChem, Grants4Apps, Health-IT-Talk (BVMI, KH-IT, SIBB), imatics, and Medlanes.

Bayer Pharma AG will optionally sponsor one selected project with 20K Euro.

How it works:

July 13: Afterwork Hackathon. Groups are built, possible projects are ideated and pitched.

July 13 – August 10: Projects are submitted to the Steering Committee.

August 10 – August 21: Steering Committee selects one project to be awarded with 20K Euro for its initial development.

August 21: The Winner project is announced at the Grants4Apps Accelerator 2015 Kick-off event.

November 27: The outcome of the Winner project is presented at the Grants4Apps Accelerator 2015 Demo Day event.
