Meetup starts at 6:30pm, with 30 minutes of social time. Beginning at 7pm, Dylan Hassinger (http://dylanized.com/) will present Building Realtime Apps with Sails.js:
Sails.js (http://balderdashy.github.io/sails/) is a revolutionary new framework for NodeJS that speeds up the creation of high performance, realtime web apps. Every Sails app is built around a RESTful API — offering a great foundation for today's "frontend-centric" applications. Plus there's a built-in Websocket transport, an asset pipeline, resourceful routing, and lots more!
In this presentation we'll take a tour of Sails, then dive in and create a small application.
Starting about 8:15pm, we'll move into a hacking session to experiment with the material that's been presented, and with JavaScript and node.js in general.
Complementary sodas and sandwiches will be provided, and the pub downstairs serves good beer, so come hungry, come thirsty, bring your laptop and be ready to code!
